In and Out of Lineage:

Tracing Artistic Heritage Through SUNY New Paltz Faculty

Mixed media video sculpture, wood, glass lens, lights, rock, moss, water, soil, 4 minutes 50 seconds

In and Out of Lineage considers the profound connection between artistic expression and learned techniques. The exhibition explores whether traditions are preserved or transcended, and asks whether creative influence follows a linear path from teachers to students or manifests through complex networks of exchange that defy simple categorizations. In and Out of Lineage invites viewers to consider the intricate webs of pedagogy and inspiration evident in the artwork of SUNY New Paltz faculty.

The exhibition features work by Thomas Albrecht, Robin Arnold, Michael Asbill, Lynn Batchelder, Chad Bridgewater, Bryan Czibesz, Adrea Frank, Matthew Friday, Kathy Goodwell, Andrea Kantrowitz, Woojin Lee, Rena Leinberger, Kelly McGrath, Myra Mimlitsch-Gray, Emily Puthoff, Nadia Sablin, Aurora De Armendi Sobrino, Suzanne Stokes, Amelia Toelke, and Lilly Zuckerman
